SAUSAGE AND BROCCOLI PESTO PASTA: Making It Healthy, Easy And Pasta (faster)

Level up your pesto pasta with this super yummy and easy recipe!


RECIPE


INGREDIENTS:

Sausage or franks – 3-4 pcs, cut thinly

Broccoli – 200-300 grams, cut

Pasta (spiral or linguini) - 3 cups or 250 grams

Olive oil – 2 teaspoons

Garlic – 3 cloves, minced

Pesto – 5-6 tablespoon

Grape tomatoes – 5 pcs, cut into halves)

Ground pepper or garlic and pepper seasoning – 1 teaspoon

Salt for boiling pasta and to taste sauce

Pepper flakes (optional) – 1/2 teaspoon

Parmesan cheese (optional) – for garnish


PROCEDURE:

1. Cook pasta based on instructions on the label. Don't forget to put salt (around 3-4 teaspoons) in the pot with the boiling water before putting in pasta. Usually, this takes 7-8 minutes to be cooked, until al dente.

2. Once pasta is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and set aside.

3. Heat olive oil in a large pan or pot. Medium heat. Add garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Add broccoli. Cook for 5-6 minutes. Stir occasionally.

5. Add tomatoes. Cook for 2 minutes.

6. Add cooked pasta. Add pasta water, pesto and pepper flakes. Stir together.

7. Add ground pepper and salt to taste.

8. Serve with parmesan cheese.
