RECIPE
INGREDIENTS:
Sliced bread – 6-7 – remove the brown sides
Canned tuna in oil – remove oil
Onion – half; minced thinly
Mayonnaise – 5-6 tablespoons
Quickmelt cheese – 1inch strip for each pie (can add more to be more cheesy)
Fresh eggs – 2
Breadcrumbs – one small bowl (can use crushed skyflakes crackers as substitute)
Cooking oil (half cup) enough to cover the pie while frying
Salt and pepper to taste
PROCEDURE:
1. Mix the tuna, mayonnaise, and minced onions in a large bowl. Season salt and pepper.
2. In a flat plate, flatten the bread. On half portion of the bread, add 1 tablespoon (or so) of the tuna filling. Top it with a slice of cheese.
3. Cover the filling with the other portion. Seal the sides using hands. Complete the seal by pressing a fork at the ends of the bread (3 sides).
4. In a separate container (preferably square or rectangular), crack and beat the eggs. Add a bit of salt to taste.
5. Soak the bread with egg. Then cover it completely with breadcrumbs.
6. Heat the pan with cooking oil. Medium heat. Then switch to low once oil is heated.
7. Fry the tuna pies. 1-2 minutes each side. Remember not to fry at high heat to avoid the breadcrumbs from being burnt. Once cooked, remove the oil.
8. Serve.
